People Recognition
Personal sphere
Tonite, I got an email from a person who I really admire artistically, someone who’s work I have looked at for a few years now, but until recently hadn’t had face-time with. The connection was purely thru the work itself in the beginning and later evolved into email tennis. When I read the email tonite, it surprised me in that this person didn’t respond by only receiving the gratitude and appreciation that I wrote, but in turn by complimenting me, and recognizing something in me that moved her as well. This simple exchange of recognition touched me. It made me feel that we are a part of something larger than ourselves and that the passion we share for things similar, is not by “happen-stance” and without purpose. I have been extremely blessed in my life to meet various people who I have looked up to artistically and who I have learned a great deal from, even if it was just in a simple exchange of words in a short, interruption filled, distraction frenzied, interlude.
Blogosphere
This week saw two vibrant contributors to the blogosphere either move on for a time, or take time out. And over the past week there has been a steady flow of appreciation and recognition of what these two men have done and given to the community in which they served. Now I won’t put this on the same level, as it isn’t, but, being a new yorker and surviving 911 and its aftermath, and being an eye-witness of the capital of the world coming together, putting aside differences of every type, and men acknowledging other men as their brother, and women, acknowledging other women as their sisters, was one of the most beautiful healing experiences this city has ever had, and in the same breath, I’m sad to say that its mostly now just a remnant of a memory and life in nyc has returned unfortunately to “normal”. I hope that my brothers and sisters across the pond in the UK have shared something similar in having a “love” walk with their countrymen and women over these past few days. My heart goes out to you, and prayers are lifted up.
There are a few people who I would like to take an opportunity to thank right now, some I have met, some I haven’t. All of them share one thing that is important. I have learned from them all, I have been inspired by them all, and in one way or another they have helped me, challenged me, and encouraged me. I want these people to know that I appreciate them, and recognize that they have made an impact in my life. This may sound melodramatic, but right now that doesn’t matter to me.
If you feel led, it would be wonderful if this could extend to other people who you would like to recognize in your life. Let this be the start of a week of recognizing the people around us who we want to know, that we appreciate them.
I appreciate You

Clint, although we have never met in person, I feel that you are one of the most genuine human beings that I know, and I think posts/moments like this just prove that.
I am proud to call you my friend.
Thanks for everything you do.

(as they say dun a yahrd) - POWERS!
when I’m moving through slow or think maybe I’m not gettin on…
then it comes on clear again, GOD filled up our boxes with gifts.
Friends or any other encounter is only GOD coming on in some way
asking you to go over to your box and pull something out.
Silly when you think there’s nothing to give, cause GOD put it in there.
Crazy when you think it’s not good enough, cause why would it be less.
If you feel I’ve passed anything on, you know I can’t take credit, since
all I did was walk over to the box. It’s nothing you haven’t done for me
year after year. THNX for THNX and the rightbackatcha.
peaceandbalance,
J
