Jesse Stephens 7

tagged_inspiration, music | lunch time

Ok, since he has started releasing public demos now I think its a good time to point some of you over to my friend Jesse Stephens. Over the last year and a half I have been listening to his music and continue to itch for him to get his album together.

It was a bit strange when he first asked me if I wanted to hear his music, you know the routine, your friend has some music and you dig it because he’s your friend. Thats what I was expecting at least. I was in for a real suprise and had no clue. From my first listen I was hooked. He has many of the qualities that I look for in musicians, the main one being transparency. I like honest music. I like music from the heart, sincerity.

Its truly one of the most mystical things about music when you can hear something “new” for the first time, and yet it is not unfamiliar, somehow you immediately accept it and it just becomes “home”.

Keep it up Jess.

Oh and don’t get a big head over this post ;)

Just a quick heads up on those of you (like me) who hadn’t checked out flock the new opensource browser. It’s still in developer mode, but you can download it and take it for a test drive.

And for you extension hungry Firefox user types, you have nothing to fear as they have already implemented that into flock and have chose some of the arguably best extensions available to start with. All you web developer toolbar die hards and adblockers take a sigh of relief.

Thumbs up for first impressions, it has an gui that mac users will undoubtedly gravitate to which is one of the main gripes from many mac die hards about Firefox (although I like its minimalistic approach). It fits into Tiger quite nicely. And its ALWAYS nice to have another standards aware browser around for both pc and mac to heat up the fire on MS IE.

wordpress 2.0 plugin compatibility 0

tagged_code, wordpress | late morning

For all you wordpressians out there, Matt has put together a comprehensive list of plugins that work and don’t work with wordpress 2.0. I’m in the process of checking an extremely large project that I’m using wordpress for and so far things are looking good, with the exception of a plugin conflict here and there with other plugins. This should be alleviated soon as the updating of plugins seems to be moving at a great rate.
